SCIENTIFIC STUDIES OF ALOE VERA BARBADENSIS BENEFITS
A GREEN LEAF WITH HEALING PROPERTIES PROVEN BY SCIENTIFIC STUDIES!
PRESENTATION HIGHLIGHTS
This presentation is a comprehensive review of scientific studies, most of which focusing on a few of the aloe benefits, but when assembled together brings us to the unavoidable conclusion that this is a superfood, referred to in older times, as the superfood of the Middle East.
Below is the true story of the aloe plant + recommendations for healthy and safe consumption of this plant. Here we will try to answer some basic questions about the usage of this plant:
-
Who should consume aloe and how frequently? Everybody, on a daily basis,
-
Does it worth drinking aloe gel? Yes, as long as it is fresh (kept frozen for extended shelf life), extracted from the inner part of the leaf (manual skin removal), slow cold pressed, without any additives, organically grown and extracted from mature leaves,
-
Why does it stay in “the corner” and not gain the status it deserves as a daily nutrient? Because most of its numerous products are not in full compliance with the standards as outlined in article 2 above, a cause for dramatic reduction of its benefits and the appearance of undesired side effects.
-
How to choose the aloe gel extract that will be the healthiest, safest and most effective? Just follow the guidelines as presented in article 2 above.
As we presented in the "History and Benefits" section above the aloe story should have made it an important part of everyone's daily diet, so why aloe hasn't become part of the diet in every home?
How is it possible that all of these benefits have remained obscure to most people?
It is considered a medicinal plant, but the truth is that it is a green succulent leaf that is well worth eating as part of a healthy daily diet routine.
Aloe leaves contain many amino acids, digestive enzymes, vitamins in large quantities, essential minerals, antioxidants, antifungal substances (e.g. candida killers), antiviral substances, powerful anti-inflammatory drugs, polysaccharides with properties to balance and strengthen the immune system and much more.
Evidences for its beneficial effects are numerous and scientific studies have also found great benefits and beneficial effects to a large number of our body systems.
Here is what science has revealed about this wonderful plant:
Aloe For Cancer
This study [24] took cancer patients in advanced stages, who in light of their condition decided to give up conventional treatment. Half of them received melatonin and the other half received melatonin + aloe gel. The group that received added aloe gel showed disease stability (versus exacerbation) and better survival, compared to the group that received melatonin only.
In a study in humans, aloe gel significantly improved the function of natural killers cells - cells responsible for the elimination of cancer cells.
Bottom line, research works with actual cancer cases in human patients proved that aloe has powerful anti-cancer properties!
Aloe for diabetes
Aloe lowers sugar levels for diabetics This meta-analysis study (a study summarizing dozens of studies examining the same topic) showed that aloe can’t only slow down the absorption of sugar after a meal, but also leads to a significant decrease of sugar levels in diabetics - decreasing FBG by 46.6 mg/dL (p < 0.0001) and HbA1c by 1.05% (p = 0.004).
Another meta-analysis study found that consumption of aloe gel resulted in a better balance of sugar levels, a reduction in triglyceride levels, a reduction in bad cholesterol (LDL) and an increase in good cholesterol (HDL).
Aloe For pre-Diabetic condition - Another study from 2013 on people with metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetic condition) found that aloe gel reduced the levels of bad cholesterol, sugar and insulin levels during fastings assisting in the prevention of diabetes.
Aloe Anti-inflammatory properties
Aloe increases blood antioxidant level - Drinking aloe gel daily has significantly increased the total antioxidant level in the blood without any side effects.
Aloe anti-inflammatory properties - New substances found in aloe are constantly being discovered. In 1996, a new type of molecule carried in the aloe plant was discovered with anti-inflammatory properties.
Inflammation and aphthae in the mouth - Aloe has been found to significantly reduce inflammation and aphthae in the mouth, most notably in cancer patients who have received chemotherapy (one of the side effects of most chemotherapies is inflammation and aphthae in the mouth). Aloe reduced pain and improved the satisfaction of these patients.
Psoriasis patients - Aloe gel has been found in a controlled study to significantly improve the condition of.
Aloe for Oral submucous fibrosis - A 2017 study on patients with this chronic disease, found that aloe gel greatly improved the condition of patients and without any side effects.

Aloe probiotic
Aloe As Prebiotic - A 2015 study found that aloe has prebiotic properties. That is, it helps the prosperity and culture of the good bacteria, the probiotic bacteria.
Aloe increases vitamin bioavailability - Drinking aloe gel significantly improved the bioavailability (i.e., improved absorption) of vitamin C and vitamin B12. It also significantly increased the ability of the blood to neutralize free radicals.
Aloe For Vitamin Absorption - A 2005 study found that aloe significantly improved the absorption of vitamin C and vitamin E. It is the only plant discovered to date that improves absorption of these two vitamins simultaneously (vitamin C is water soluble and vitamin E is fat soluble so it is not really trivial to have a substance that improves absorption of these two vitamins together!).
Aloe reduces heart burn - A 2015 study of people with heartburn and reflux found that aloe greatly reduced the frequency of heartburn events, without any side effects.
Irritable bowel syndrome - A preliminary study from 2015 found that aloe gel was significantly beneficial for people with this syndrome.
Aloe Other benefits
Aloe tissue repair - Aloe has a wonderful ability to repair tissues. A 2016 study in rats found that aloe significantly reduced the nerve damage caused by spinal cord injury.
Aloe Protection For kidney cells - In another animal study, aloe was found to protect kidney cells following the administration of a toxic drug to the kidneys.
Aloe prevented DNA damage following exposure to toxic substances known as DNA damage agents.
Aloe helps with COLITIS - A placebo-controlled study in patients with colitis (autoimmune inflammatory bowel disease) showed impressive efficacy compared with placebo. A thirds of patients reached complete remission thanks to the aloe gel.
Aloe for multiple sclerosis - in multiple sclerosis model in mice, aloe inhibited the exacerbation of the disease.
Aloe For Kidney Stone - A 2006 study found that aloe gel has the best effect on urine composition. This effect is known to reduce the risk of kidney stones.
Are there people who should be careful about using aloe gel?
Diabetics who are taking sugar-lowering medications, who are starting to consume the gel, should have sugar tests performed more frequently than usual.
Aloe is so effective in lowering sugar levels that it is likely that within 1-2 weeks, diabetics will need to lower the dose of medication they are taking to balance their sugar level.
In short - the product is highly recommended for diabetics as an additional tool for lowering blood sugar level, but closer monitoring should be performed.
Caution is also required from people taking the drug coumadin (a powerful blood-thinning drug). They should not consume aloe without consulting their physician and adjusting their coumadin dose according to his guidance. Aloe is a green leaf and is therefore problematic for people who take Coumadin (like all other green leaves that are banned from free consumption by coumadin users).
When people are sick, they are willing to invest any amount to recover, but the wisdom is not to wait for the disease, but to invest in food or health-promoting products, when you are healthy, in order to reduce the risk of catching any sort of a disease.
We think that our aloe gel produced as described above is definitely worth such investment.
